4.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards the achievement of the learning objectives. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, such as lectures, practice sessions, autonomous work, study and assessment tasks.

Students are expected to participate actively in class throughout the semester.

Further information regarding the course will be provided on the first day of class.

4.2. Learning tasks

The course includes the following learning tasks:

  • Exercises of Greek morphology
    • 1.1. The Greek verb: critical discussion of the morphological analysis.
  • Translation and critical discussion: passages selected from Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey.
    • 2.1. Translation and critical discussion in class.
    • 2.2. Translation and critical discussion of passages selected from Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey.
  • Reading of Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey.

4.3. Syllabus

The course will address the following topics:

  • Topic 1. The morphology of verb.
    • 1.1. Introduction
    • 1.2. Elements and paradigms.
    • 1.3. Vowel and consonant Verbs.
    • 1.4. -μι verbs.
